ESLT and these artists have many things in common – stewardship of the land, dedication to helping preserve our cherished landscapes, and being inspired by the natural beauty to continue their important work. The artwork depicted in the show reflected these common bonds and included scenes from working farms and ranches, wildlife habitat, outdoor recreation and the many scenic views that reflect the human and natural history of the Eastern Sierra.  "We were thrilled with the enthusiastic attendance at the show and especially gratified to have more than exceeded our sales goal for the event," stated ESLT Executive Director, Karen Ferrell-Ingram.

A select group of Eastern Sierra and Oak Group artists depicted the unique characteristics of the region. There are few places in California, or the United States, that offer more dramatic landscape and scenic vistas than the Eastern Sierra. The alliance of artists transformed the CreekHouse at Snowcreek into a first rate gallery for the weekend. Curator Kendra Knight of the Mammoth Ski Museum, ESLT Development and Outreach Director Mary McGurke, and ESLT Art Committee members Rick Kattelmann, Lynn Peterson and Mary K Prentice collaborated to coordinate this first annual event. ESLT is grateful to work with this alliance of artists in an annual Show & Sale portraying the natural beauty of our cherished region and raising awareness to protect our cherished Eastern Sierra. Stay tuned for details on the 2nd Annual Art for Conservation Show & Sale in 2010!
